4.5 Stars for Waste Management Group

Congratulations were heralded on May 7th as sustainability leaders, the Central Murray Regional Waste Management Group (CMRWMG) were presented with a certificate of recognition in Sustainability Victoria’s 5StarSustainability program for government.

The Group was awarded an outstanding 4.5, from a possible 5 stars due to an ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability.

Sustainability Victoria’s Simon Clay presented the award to Executive Officer Karen Fazzani and CMRWMG Chairperson Neville Goulding on behalf of CEO Stan Krpan who, in his absence conveyed his congratulations to the Group for their significant achievement in writing.

“This is the highest certified score by a government agency to date and represents not only a great example for others in your sector, but across the whole of Victoria.”

“…not only are you at leading practise in your own operations but you are actively working with your stakeholders to help them to reduce their impacts,” commended Mr Krpan.

CMRWMG Executive Officer Karen Fazzani is delighted at the Groups recognition.

“We have worked hard to ensure constant progression towards our environmental targets,” commented Ms Fazzani.

“Our policies reflect the Groups dedication to sustainability through all of our operations.”

5StarSustainability for Government rates an organisation’s current environmental performance and sets them on the way to sustainability leadership.
