In Three Words Winners Announced

Kerang’s Julie Gottke took out the major prize, an iPad, in the Central Murray Regional Waste Management Groups ‘In Three Words’ competition.

Julie’s winning entry ‘Reuse = Reduce = Reward’ was inspired by the community spirit of her local Country Women’s Association and Uniting Church Groups.

“When I first moved to Kerang I joined the local Uniting Church and began making goodies to share on Sundays.”

“I could get the ingredients without any trouble, but I didn’t have any containers.”

“The ladies shared their ideas with me, such as reusing old meat trays among other things,” recalled Ms Gottke.

Julie explained that reusing equals reduced waste, and that the environment is rewarded for it.

The prize for the entry with the most votes went to Jacob and Michael Olive of Charlton for their entry ‘Yes We Can!’.

Jacob and Michael are keen Bob the Builder fans who have learnt a lot about reducing, reusing and recycling from watching the popular kids program.

The great young ambassadors won themselves a worm farm and JB Hi-Fi voucher for their incredible 57 votes!!

Thank you to everyone that participated, the entries were all terrific!
